Recommended Curriculum for students that are new to concept art.
Note: We don’t always offer the same classes every term. You can take whichever class you want except certain Advanced classes that might require portfolio review.
If you want to focus on Character Design: Intro to Digital Painting-> Form Language/Intro to Concept Art -> Intro to Character Design -> Character Design/Creature Design/Intro to Illustration
If you want to focus on Environment Design: Intro to Digital Painting -> Form Language/Intro to Concept Art -> Intro to Environment Design -> Environment Design/Hard Surface Design/Weapon Design
Does The Workshop Academy Offer Installment Payment Plan?
We do offer payment plans depending on the class. Please email us at contact@theworkshopacademy.net if that is something you would like to do.
Do you have to be over 18 to take the classes?
There is an age limit for the Figure drawing and Figure paintings class because of nude models. For our other class we don't have an age limit but the students in our classes are usually college students and professionals. We sometimes will offer teen level classes. Please contact us for any questions and concerns if you are enrolling for anyone under the age of 18.
What is the workload like for each class?
Students can expect 5-15 hours of homework every week for most classes, with most classes having critiques every week.
How many students are in each class?
We will have a maximum of 10-14 students in each class. Average class size range from 6-10.
Do you offer 3d art classes?
We do offer 3d art classes but it depends on if the teachers are available.
Do you offer online courses?
The school is now fully online.
Is the Workshop Academy accredited?
The Workshop Academy is not an accredited school but we believe you don't need a degree to work in the entertainment industry. What matters the most is your portfolio.
Will I be able to get a job after I take the classes?
We can't guarantee that you will get a job by taking the classes. Getting a job in the industry requires years of hard work and getting to know the right people. We believe taking our classes will help you build a stronger portfolio and meet industry professionals.
How come I can only contact the school through email?

The Workshop Academy Terms of Service
Refund policy
Students can get a 100% refund 2 weeks before the first class begins.
50% refund a week before the first class.
Less than a week before class begins, there is no refund. The reason for such a strict policy is because it's hard for us to fill a spot if there is a last minute cancellation.
Material and Equipment Policy
We do not provide PC workstations or software. You need to have a high-speed internet connection to take the class.
Course Cancellation Policy
We reserve the right to cancel any course or workshop if there isn't enough sign ups or the instructor can't teach the course. If we have to cancel the whole course before it begins, the students will get a full refund.
If the instructor can't make it to a class, we will have a qualified substitute ready.
Registration Policy
Students are required to submit their correct name & phone number when they pay for the class. This will allow us to properly enroll each student and be able to contact them during emergencies or class cancellations.
Class Policy
Please be respectful to everyone in class. We do not tolerate any discrimination or harassment in anyway. We reserve the right to remove anyone from the school.
The Workshop Academy is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings that might occur in or near the premise of the school.
We reserve the right to use the students and instructors work/likeness in class for promotional purposes for the school. Pictures and/or videos of the class in progress could be taken for promotional purposes. Taking a picture or recording a figure model is not allowed unless you get their permission.
