Class: This is a class with a focus on sci-fi hard surface design. We will go over simple prop designs to more complex objects such as vehicle and weapon design. We will be going over design theories and what makes something iconic, and also talk about design decisions based on the need of a project.
Prerequisite: we recommend: perspective and 3d program knowledge

Ideation Techniques
Material List: Paper and Pencil/Pen. Laptop optional. For homework Photoshop and tablet
Time/Day: Sunday 7-10pm PDT
First Class: October 13th
Last Class: December 8th
Days off: December 1st, Thanksgiving Weekend
Class Location: Online class using Zoom meeting, All classes are recorded and available for download
Instructor: Josh Kao is a concept artist since 2008. He has worked on projects such as Prey, Call of Duty Black Ops II, God of War Ascension, Halo, Star Citizen, and Tron Uprising. Josh attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.
